Foreign Factories in Guangzhou (the Thirteen Hongs district), circa 1820, artist unknown, oil on canvas. Returned by F A Xavier between 1945 and 1946. The actual number of foreign countries that occupied the district fluctuated, in this painting the factories shown from left to right are Spanish, American, British, and Dutch.
