Roseberys’ upcoming auction of Chinese, Japanese and South East Asian art will take place on 11 November in London. A highlight of the sale is an exquisite oil study of two horses (40cm x 90.5cm). Painted by Indonesian artist Lee Man Fong in 1949, it is expected to go for £30,000-£50,000. Elsewhere in the sale, a Chinese spinach jade marriage bowl from the Qianlong period is estimated to go for £10,000-£15,000. The bowl is carved in low relief to the exterior with lotus blooms and meandering scrolls, with carved dragonfly-form handles, their wings resting on the rim of the bowl. Set on four rectangular feet, the bowl measures 23cm in diameter.
